Narrative Past Tense

Used in written German (books, newspapers, usw) to express events in the past. (also called the "simple" past)

Regular Verb Endings:.......ich. .-te...................wir....-ten

Irregular Verb Endings:......ich....(none)............wir.....-en
.......................................du.....-st.................ihr.....-t

The Bodensee is a very large lake located on the border between Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. It is known as the Dreiländereck (three country corner).
Hiddensee is a small island in the Baltic Sea. Cars are not allowed on this island. People can get to Hiddensee by ferry from Rügen Island to the east, or from Schaprode on the mainland of Germany.
